Purple shaft ID

Iv been offerd a BB purple shaft & lifters, the guys says its a magnum cam thats all he knows, the cam has no part numbers on it, it is a purple cam by looking at it but which one? what a magnum cam?

i guess he means its from a 383 or 440 magnum.   you could  check  the lift and also  check  the duration  by measuring  it with a degree wheel mounted and   dial indicator.

the magnum cam started  in 67 when it was introduced inside the 440 magnum{coronet r/t}....and commando{gtx}...the specs are 228@ 0.050intake duration.......241@0.050 exhaust duration      with 0.450 intake.......0.458 exhaust lift     46 overlap  and a 115 centerline.....

Use a dial caliper to measure the base circle, then the max lift dimension.  Subtract them, multiply by 1.5 and you'll be in the neighborhood of the advertised lift.  That should give you an idea.
