Don, since you refered to your self as a kid, I thought I'd take the opportunity to yell at ya. Several years ago we had 3 drivers killed in a short period of time. The only one of the three I knew was a very large man. He had been repremanded several times for not wearing his belt. He said the belt wouldn't go around him.  He hit the Jersey wall in the center of the highwy and flipped his tractor trailer on it's side. He fell down in the pass compartment. whatever he slid into crushed him. The drivers compartment was untouched.

The second one was backing his delivery truck up to a loading dock. He unbuckeled his belt so he could look out the left side door. he slipped and fell out and the truck rolled over his head, less than one MPH.

The third was found on the shoulder also run over by his own truck. No one knows what really happened. He was approching a 3 way  intersection with a stop sign on his side. his truck kept roling untill it hit some trees across a  field.

I almost forgot another one. One of our drivers was pulling down a long country gravel drive. The lady who lived there was walking back from getting her mail and paper so he gave her a lift. We have little fold up jump seats for helpers at Christmas time and he let her sit there and she didn't buckle up. He hit a bump and she fell out and hit her head on a rock. Some time later she passed away.

Please be safe, Joe.

In '88 I was 21 and had a new 5.0 Mustang (I actually miss that car; sorry bbd sign but it ran, didn't just sit on axle stands!) I just finished washing it on a Sunday morning and took it on the highway to blow the water off. I got pulled over and the officer said he clocked me at 130 (kmh). I said, I thought I was 145 or so, just trying to dry it off. He laughed and said get a chamois then walked away.

back when I was in the corps, I just showed em my military ID and most of the time I went away with a warning, the girl I was seeing in 92/93 was always pissed off because I was pulled over at least 15 times during that time for speeding and never got a ticket for aspeeding, but 1 cop who had pulled me over at least 8 times gave me a seat belt violation instead.

the last time I was pulled over, it was by a female officer ( should niot have been driving drinks ) I gave her some of hte hidden charm and she let me park the car and get a friend to come and get me.
