Sometime in the early '80s, I remember reading an article in one of the mags about an experimental Hemi with a ball & stud rocker arrangement like G.M. - no more rocker shafts. This was supposed to keep the cost down and allow the Hemi to live on for another couple of years but apparently never made it into production. The article was pretty cool and had some decent photos. Anybody know anything about this?

there was an article about that motor in Mopar Collectors Guide a couple years back on that motor. if I was home I'd look at my back issues to tell you witch one. I was resurrected and installed in a barracuda that was on display at carlisle in '06. If you were there it was the blue one on display in front of the 08 challenger concept car. I have some pics, but they are on another computer at the house.

Yep. That's the one. Thanks. I wonder where it would have led to if it were to have gone into production. Guess we'll never know.

Didn't it have smooth valve covers because the spark plugs went down on the sides, like a 440? I remember it being ugly.

It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar.
