power to manual steering convert---Is this a problem or is it normal??
« on: May 12, 2008, 09:42:40 PM »

OK

I have a 68 Dart, with power steering.

I have a manual steering box from a 67? satellite.

Now, where the steering column attaches to the box.  The input spline on one box is larger than the other.  Is this right, and does the adapter that RMS and others sell take care of this?

thanks

The FirmFeel part will work with the stock coupler on the column. With the RMS part you get rid of the ugly stock coupler and trim the column to suit your needs. Plus the RMS piece looks a whole lot better. Willie

Thanks for the offer Doug.  The RMS piece is already ordered.

For those of you who have tried the RMS adapter, how does the upper shaft attach to the new piece.  Welding, set screws?

And how is the stock coupler removed?

thanks
