can't locate master brake cylinder retainer

Okay, I'm working through a disc brake conversion project. I'm using a disc/drum power brake master cylinder and I need the small rubber retainer.
I know that the part number was 2074960, but this part has been replaced with a whole package of rings and retainers (part #4240510). I spoke with a handful of dealerships in two states and they all say the same thing: not available, and no one has them, no NOS, get lost.

Hmm. Where else can I find such a thing?

I can't remember if I used a 3/8 or 5/16 piece of fuel hose cut about 1/8 inch an rolled onto the shaft.It has been working for about 2 years now.
