Hello,
I'm undecided on the following front suspension options. I'm interested in the pros and cons of these options. With your help I hope to have a clear choice. Also if you have an additional option please let me know.
1. Stock setup but upgrade it with "Just Suspension" components. 2. Stock setup but upgrade it with "CAP Auto Products" tubular K frame and the additional CAP components. 3. A complete "Magnumforce" XRT setup. 4. A complete "RMS Chassis Components" Alterktion setup.
Thank you in advance for your help and feedback.

So many variables..........plans for the car?? engine ?? Drag, road race style or street?? motor mounts vs motor plate?? Obviously budget??
Magnum force requires a motor plate I believe, shock mounts in stock location but no torsion bars (stock location wasnt designed to support car w/o torsion bars here). Most expensive option
Cap- no experience, but why spend that much $$ and still have to keep torsion bars
AlterK- Best option out there, havent heard any negatives about it. I am biased cuz I have one.

I'm a fan of the original torsion bar suspension. The only drawbacks, as I see it, are header clearance and steering gear clop. the steering gear can be helped along with a new Firm Feel box.

1. Stock setup but upgrade it with "Just Suspension" components. good kit but may be able to get it cheaper elsewhere. depending on which kit of theirs you go with.
2. Stock setup but upgrade it with "CAP Auto Products" tubular K frame and the additional CAP components. don't know anyone running one. no real world customer feedback yet that i have heard. the kits i have seen use a steering box, torsion bars and strut rods. seems like a waste to me. may as well go with a stock set up and up grade it if you want to go torsion bar.
3. A complete "Magnumforce" XRT setup. really have never read anything good about the magnumforce set up. multiple problems. search any number of mopar forums and see for yourself. seems that the guys that like them hardley ever drive the car and sure as hell don't throw them into a turn.
4. A complete "RMS Chassis Components" Alterktion setup. awesome set up. kit comes with everything to drive the car in swap over to the new system and drive out when done. best r&p out there in my opinion.
to me it comes to two choices. an upgraded stock type of system or the alter-k.

whats so bad about torsion bars
Didnt say anything "bad" about torsion bars........after pricing out the cost of going thru and upgrading the stock suspension, steering, motor mounts, poly bushings...etc The AlterK had more positives based on the cost to upgrade to it. Header clearance, weight savings, brake options, oil pan clearance, RacknPinion steering, improved suspension geometry for big wheels/tires, appearance.......blah blah blah blah

Thanks for all the info!
What I'm looking for is a real nice handling street/road car. I like the option of having a choice of spring rates with the AlterKtion kit. Also the fact that the AlterKtion kit is a complete kit. Having said that what spring rate would be appropriate for a street/road car with a big block using the AlterKtion kit?
Many thank again for the help and info!

5. straight axle. move rear wheels forward about a foot. SWEET I like this idea myself. This is a classic hot rodding trick for Darts for adding clearance using parts from your local junkyard. A/FX anyone?
