crankcase venting
« on: May 16, 2008, 03:14:01 AM »

I was wondering if anybody had this delema?

I have some pressure in my crankcase as at wot the oil shoots out around the valve cover breather -only on the drivers side. This engine is a 440 c.i. with about 11.30 compression, 5,000 Miles on the motor and JE pistons come with the  low friction  moly rings....I have  an indy top end, with a comp  solid roller cam. I have installed a Morroso bolt on valve cover to seal the oil from getting out and an external catch can evacuator with breather. Should i invest in the future, a vacuum pump to give me 0 psi - crankcase pressure? and gain more HP and  better ring seal?

                                                                                                                                      Frustrated

basically you can answer your own question on this one...do you want to gain hp and ring seal by investing in a vacuum pump?

Try a Vac-U-Pan system , their cheap and fairly easy to install if all you want is 0 in the C/C.
You`ll get around 7" vac. with one installed properly.
