If it works and looks good, I would leave it there.

The most important question is if you want it to be original. It will not ever look 100% stock, but you may get it to look pretty good. It is all dependent upon what your perspective is, but I do not see any benefit in converting to a non-sunroof. If you wanted to replace the roof, replace it with a factory sunroof roof. (it is so much effort that you might as well get the car all the way back) The possibility is also there to find a decent sunroof and cut it out and weld it in.

Is this the crank style with the tracks that go under the roof? I'll assume so. are the sunroofs any good in these cars ?
They are unusual. do they leak ?
Most of them do. are they hard to fix ?
Yes. should i replace my roof with one with out sunroof That would be a lot of work... and not easy. Finding and installing a factory sunroof would also be difficult. If the car is stored indoors, I guess a sunroof would be ok. Did it have a vinyl top from the factory?

Well, they ARE hard to find, tend to leak, and hard to fix. If you have one though, they're cool.
