Stupid Hood Hinges

Anyone know of an intelligent and safe way to hook the hood spring coil back on the post for the hinge?

I put the center in first, then pulled the top of the spring around to the other mount. Worked for me???

  thats it ! I'm never taking mine apart . I'm just gonna wash them and paint them . It seems like every body has trouble withe those.
