So what happened now?
« on: May 21, 2008, 08:24:05 AM »

Well, I got my carb back form Barry Grant and installed. When I was trying to start the car, it got running for a second and it stalled. I adjusted the timming getting it closer. Theis happened a couple of times. When the next time I went to crank over the motor, all I got was a single click and the whole system was shorted out to the body. So, when I took my test  like and went from the - on ghe battery to the body of the car, it lite up. If I went from the + of the battery to the body nothing, so there is a short, but what would  suddenly short? Would the starter relay on the inter fender do this, or could the starter do this? I didn't really get into it very deep last night as I ran out of time. Any one have any ideas?

Doug is right. Your light doesn't show a short, it shows an open.

agree  If you're reading voltage from B- to the chassis you lost your ground. (I highly doubt it had anything to do with your BG carb-just a coincidence)
