front to rear spring eye

I had to put in frame caps on the back of my 68 dart sedan. also doing the relo and will move housing back 1".
whats the distance spring mount holes front to back? should have measured first! hammer

but the rear spring eye location really depends on your springs and the actual ready to drive wieght.
i am no expert on the exact location but the shackle should be plus or minus one inch from the verticle will work good on the rear mount location.

probably best to hold off on permanently locating it until you get it at driving hight,a few tack welds.

If you still have the OEM front spring brackets you can use them as a guide. The OEM mounting point should still be accessible, if nothing else visually. Place the front spring bracket into place and using a Sharpie put it through the spring eye bolt hole and mark a circle on the exhisting frame. This will be the original hole's location. Back that point up, towards the rear of the car, one inch, or whatever, and that gives you your location for the front eye hole. If not accessible ( Huh

) you'll have to measure from the bottom of the frame rail to teh eye bolt hole in the frame and best guess it.
Mxlplx71 is correct about putting in the springs you want first to figure out where the rear shackle eyes need to be drilled into the frame. However, you need to do this with the springs UNLOADED (no weight on them) the spring shackles should be pointed straingt down. 90* from the frame with no weight on them. This will allow the spring shackle to go towards the rear when weight is placed on the suspension. If they are going forwards the suspension will bind and defeat traction. If you use the stiff SS springs this will work for them as they have no choice but to push the shackles outwards as they flatten out when the car's weight is pushing down on them.
