Slick + Wheel fitment
« on: May 23, 2008, 12:47:54 AM »

Ok guys --looking for some tire and wheel sizes.  Putting a Dana in my 70 Dart soon .  I need a SPECIFIC application  .  Must be:

67 and up A body

NO wheel tubs  --  Must  be ONLY  mini tubbed car ( stock tubs moved in 2" to frame rail)

Springs must be relocated into frame rail  +  must be  leaf spring cars

Im also moving the rear back about 1-1.5"

So.... what are your exact  wheel specs  + tire size ?

I have a '68 Barracuda, minitubbed, relocated springs. Currently I have 295/65/15 MT ET Street Tires mounted on 8" Cragar D window wheels with 4.5" BS. I now know that I can use a 10" wheel with 5.5" BS and it'll still fit with acceptable clearance.

29.5 high, 10.5 wide, section width is somewhere close to 12 inches.

It'll be easier to find out what exactly YOU need opposed to what everyone has in each car. You'll need to have your Dana installed and measure each side as each car, and axle, is located slightly differently left to right. I outlined how to do this in the section above this one entitled: "Which of these will fit a stock 69 Coronet rear suspension". It is super easy and gives you a great visualization. With two measurements you'll hit it everytime.

just finished one yesterday, 69 dart with ford 9" 55" drum to drum. running 28 x 10.50 hoosier with weld 15x10. if you use a 5 1/2 bs you'll have to trom the lip of the fender. i got a set of 6 1/2 bs on order and they will work with out trimming the lip. the springs are moved in 3" by relocator kit. i also moved the rear back 1". that was ok since i hav'nt had the drive shaft built yet.

I have 15 x 10s , with M/T sportmans 28x12.50s. I can get 29s on it, but its to close for me when the tire expands on burn outs. I even modified the front part of the wheel well 3/4". The rear is not moved at all. The M/Ts are 13.2 wide from sidewall to sidewall of the tire.
