So i was watching an overhaulin and they painted a bunch of trim pieces to look like brushed aluminum. Does anyone know what it takes to pull it off? I have no doubt it requires alot of skill but i would really like to try it?

I've done some stuff by spraying it with dull aluminum Rustoleum and then lightly scuffing it with scotchbrite. I've also scotchbrited aluminum and cleared it.

It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar.

Scotch brite....nice even sanding. Then use a clear coat over them to keep it looking good

Looked like the trick was to pull the sandingblock squarely & parrallel with piece--you could use a straightedge to start maybe ? -------Mopar Tom
