Anyone near Vegas?
« on: May 24, 2008, 03:31:19 PM »

Barring any issues popping up, I'll be taking a TDY to Nellis AFB on the 30th for two weeks. Planning to stay off base, supposedly somewhere near the strip.

Anyone live nearby who would want to hang out and BS about Mopars one day? I don't know which days will be down days, but hopefully we won't be too busy down there.

More'n likely. Never been there before, so it'll be worth checking out. You can bet I'll be getting my fix of wings from Buffalo Wild Wings though!

Hey, I'm familiar with your plane. I worked on it at Tinker in 2006 when it was there for depot maintenance. What's the story behind it, all I've heard has been rumors. I heard 2 people have died on it, one of which was a crew chief that died in the L/H wheel well.  Patrick

Y'know, I've heard so many stories about that jet, and I still have yet to find out which one is actually true. The most popular one is about the boomer being sucked out of one of the (now nonexistant) sextant windows in flight. That actually did happen, but on another jet. I've never had anything weird happen to me on it, and I've worked it on mid shift many times. A bunch of the guys I work with are scared to death of it though, and a couple have had weird shit happen to 'em while I've been out there too. There's definitely something going on with it, but nothing that I've experienced first hand. Maybe it just likes me...
