jg, I think the Ford cop car wheels look pretty cool on your Dart and that gray Dart (photoshopped?? ) looks absolutely WICKED ! How did you do that? I really like the radiused fenderwells and the fenderwell lip itself. How in the world did you DO THAT? You can't even tell it's photoshopped! So since this is a "fantasy" photograph, what diameter wheels are theoretically on there?

Pure GTS- the LX (300, charger, magnum, and challenger) all share the same 5x115mm bolt pattern. CudaSRT8- the photoshopping of a photo is pretty easy. I've had some practice West- send a hi-res photo to me @ jgale00@hotmail.com and i'll post a 'shopped version here.

I like the look of these wheels, just have to find somebody who wants a decent price for a set with shipping. It's easier to find tires for a 17 in the sizes I need then for a 15.

Thank you very much jg. I like the way they look,i don't usually go letters out but it looks good on this car. this will make plunking down the $ on rims alot easier. If we ever meet up the beers are on me thanks again

CUDASRT8 - I placed one of the wheels on an 8 3/4 axle I had laying about and saw not such trouble. All the bolt holes appeared evenly spaced around the lugs. I did this to test it first before going to all the trouble of bolting them up to my Dart to check them for interference problems in their travel lock to lock on the steering, loaded and unloaded. Which also checked out fine too, I might add. Here too the wheel studs appeared centered in the wheel's hole(s). It never hurts to recheck things two or three times. That's why I'm still checking, as becoming another insurance statistic is not what I aspire to; if you know what I mean.

PureGTS, I don't see how EACH of the studs could be centered in EACH hole. I you just put on ONE lug nut and tighten it down, it would center THAT stud and I think you would see the rest of them off a bit. If not, so be it. I know on the Charger, 17" steel wheels I have here, they're off just enough that I won't use them. It's a shame too, as the 18" cop Charger wheel would be pretty cool.
MyCreation, What size is the front tire in the pic of your front fender with the Ford Cop wheel on there? Thanks....

Here's whatI'm seeing:
Pic 1 - testing tool; an axle from a B Body 8 3/4 wagon
Pic 2 - Same axle with recognizable Mopar wheel (Super Coupe) on it
Pic 3 - Same axle with LX (Late Charger) wheel on it
Looks pretty spot on to me. Am I missing something? What do you guys see?

Pure GTS not to knock your method theres no good way to tell spacing by an eye comparison. My reason for that statement? On the back of my 68 with my small bolt pattern axles I have wheels off a neon 5x100mm spacing on my 5x4" bolt pattern. Now why is this hard to determine by eye? their only .06" of an inch off so they look right by eye but you measure and they don't work. the new charger rims are so close to the stock pattern for our cars you can't tell by eye but by measuring you can tell that they don't work. stock pattern for a LBP is in mm 5x114.3mm the new charger wheel is 5x115mm very close but in the world of wheels not close enough.

Why couldn't they just stick to the plan: KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid and make them them same and enjoy the sales of the wheels?

because wheres the fun in that? If you really want them you can always get a local machine shop to put the proper 5x115mm bolt pattern on your axles, and front hubs. You could run SRT wheels then.

i dunno, i still dont really see the problem, especially since they look to be hub centric. i know it doesnt seem right to use something that you know isnt the correct part, but really i dont think i will change what i think till i hear of wheels falling off.

PureGTS I was out working on my 68 today and figured I would take a few shots for you. Comparisons between a stock 13x5" 5 on 4" bolt pattern rim and the 15x6" 5 on 100mm bolt pattern neon rim I have on the dart. First measurments with a tape measure: steel: neon: As you can see the neon rim is about 1/16" bigger bolt pattern. now rim comparisons: steel: neon: Just to show that the bolt pattern I have is in fact 5x4" visual mounting: steel: neon: As you can see the steel wheel sits on all the studs at the same time and the neon only sits on two the others sit a little bit away. Also when i took the neon rim off I noticed that their where aluminum shavings from when we moved the car home, no they didn't fall off but if their going to rub that much eventually they will come loose, I'll never be able to honestly in good conscience sell these neon rims because of the fact I've rubbed away of the material, sure it's not much but I intend to use these for rolling the car around for a while yet.

i used pizza wheels off a shelby charger 85- 100mm on the back of a 72 scamp small 4"pattern for a month driving on the highway every day with no problems. the 205-50-15 tires made it handle better too, they wouldnt fit on the front though. ihad a tire blow and that was all i had for spares at the time.
