Gauge light wiring
« on: June 04, 2008, 12:55:46 PM »

I would like to wire the lights for my gauges to come on with the parking lights.  Anyone know how to tap into the factory wring under the dash to do that? It's a 69 dart, all the factory wiring is there. Thanks  Grin

If you can get your headlight switch out where you can see it , Check for the wire that becomes hot for your parking lights when you pull them on.  Tap into that one....ground anywhere that you have metal left....

Hi Jim.

If you would like, I could e-mail you the wiring diagrams for your car if that would help you out. Just let me know what e-mail address you want me to send them to.  Smiley

Richard, that will probably help.  I noticed all the terminals on the head light switch are letter coded.  One terminal was labeled "D" I wonder if that is "dash"  Dunno My email is bigcube@stny.rr.com Thanks!

Hi Jim,

I'm not sure about the wiring on the 69 Dart's, as I've never worked on one, but the wiring for the gauges should all be orange in color if it's like the other various Mopars I've worked on. The wiring diagrams should answer all of your questions though.

I'm going to sign off here on B.B.D. and send you the diagrams, so you should have them in a couple of minutes. I'll sign back on here afterwards and see if they came through to you ok?

Richard, you are also correct, according to the diagrams you sent, the orange wire on the cluster plugs are also the instrument lights  Grin
