I'm considering some kind of hidden antenna for my Barracuda. Being a convertible gives me more options that will work. I haven't really decided what to use, though. Crutchfield has something, but the reviews were mixed.

I have a loose stock antenna that I need to fix. My "Dart Solid State Radio" gets great AM and FM reception and the Ipod comes in just fine.

I bought a universal power antenna from a surplus store. It came in a carquest package. I mounted it in the stock location and it fits right in behind the fender splash panel. I modified the stock castelated nut and used the rest of the hardware from the kit and it looks factory. I wanted something that would fully retract so I could use my car cover in the garage.

I was thinking of hiding one above the headliner, but it is probably wize to see if it actually works that way.

Yeah, I have a stock dash speaker, reworked stock radio, and installed rear speakers in facotry mounting... it looks great and 100% stock.

Theoretically that should about the worst place for it, but you never know what will work where you live and drive.

Years ago I used one of those ones with the tape that sticks to the inside of your windshield. It actually worked pretty good and was mostly unseen. Think I got it at Radio Shack?

Well i just finished filling in the hole where my antenna goes now, so its too late to keep it even if i wanted to...i like how it looks though without it because it gives the car a cleaner, smoother look, plus i never listen to the radio, just cd's....now i have to figure out where im going to put a CD deck

Plenty for speakers. I find I generally leave the radio off, but it looks bone stock. I'm glad I switched speakers cause the new one will be so much easier to get out of the dash if ever need be. (old one was HUGE) I find I can hear mine over the 340 and I like having that option, it does get tough on the hot days with all 4 windows down, the vents open, the fresh air doors wide and the 340 revving (as much as it does...) in a pass.

put the radio in the glove box and stash a cd changer in the trunk, or you can do what i do and make a custom center console under the dash to house the deck. my dart has an anntena right now, but will be shaved when i do the body work. i dont listen to the radio either, only cds or my mp3 player

I'm sorry, call me a tight-wad if you like, but I have a hard time paying $129 for a $10-$15 antenna. I've purchased and modified 2 aftermarket antennas. With a bit of enginuity you can get teh Pep Boys or Auzto Zone universal brands to fit and work just fine. In both cases I modified the antennas' mounting pivot that butts against the underside of the fender by extending it. One I could weld the other was pot metal and I riveted extensions onto it. The first was a normal upright antenna that interfered with teh car cover. Note - no car covers were made that have a antenna mast provision. After bending that antenna, I got a retractable one that collapses down into the fender (non-electric) and allows my cover to go on and off without tearing up the cover or the antenna. Another option is to have the/a body shop fill the hole in so you CAN use a normal/generic antenna (1" base) instead of the OEM type (1 1/4" base). I told my body shop to do that, but they said they found a antenna that worked... WRONG! That's why I had to fugure it out myself. Of course, my radio died so I don't get much use of it anymore. *sigh*
