It's 1978 all over again!!
|
I am looking for a pair backing plates for 11" brakes. I plan on replacing all of the hardware and wheel cyls, so I just need the backing plates. Also would like to know what vehicle they originally came off of so that I can order drums and axles.
Leave me a price and a way to contact you. Zip code is 64086 if you want to check shipping.
Thanks!

They only came on C-bodies that I know of and that's the best place to get them.

I was told to look for something off of a van or truck. As long as it's an 8 3/4 rear end, he can match the axles.

This is where I got my discs, I don't know if he has the backing plates: https://www.jimsautoparts.com/brake.htmHe also has the backing plates if you look further down. Some money, but all new parts that should bolt straight to a B-Body end style rear axle.

I've got the complete set off of my '68 300 I parted out. Everything worked, but the E-brake cables. I'm not sure if the cables were the issue. I'll take $80 for the set, but you pay shipping. Mike

Just go to the junk yard and look for a 1980s Gran Fury. All you have to do is make the bottom hole a little bigger, and it will bolt up to your 8 3/4. That way you can get every thing you need in one shot.

Sorry, I forgot to check back.
I bought the ones above off of Ebay for $60 including shipping. I checked the guy's previous sales, and he has been selling sets just like them for $90 plus shipping, so I guess I got a pretty good deal.
Thanks everyone.
