replacing leaf springs on the dart
« on: June 07, 2008, 04:05:47 PM »

Hey all i'm workin on my gf's dart and need to replace the leaf springs. are these a good choice.

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=DCC%2D4120864&N=700+4294908110+4294908090+4294925083+115&autoview=sku

The car has an 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 gears sure grip equiped (use to have the 7 1/4 rear end), and has a 360 backed with a torqueflte. thanks if you can help. The purpose of the car is to be an everyday driver, but i obviously want some performance out of it. The car will have 300+ horses or probably just 300... don't want to give her too much for her first car.

thanks if you can help.

Those are race car springs (2800 lb) that you are wanting to put on a daily driver?  I would think a dd would weigh in around 3200-3400 lbs.

I used some of the ESPO +1 springs, and haven't had a complaint yet.

those springs are fine.

for a guy who did what you did to that 4 door any problems will be minor.

i used shocks from a Ford pick-up but the stud on the dodge is smaller.

and the front eye bolt is bigger  http://www.bigblockdart.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1282&cat=500&ppuser=1817

yea found out yesterday that i need to drill the holes bigger on the front hangers and get a larger bolt. getting some new shackle bushing today... i hope they fit the stock shackles i have and the spring. not sure if there are different sizes or one size fits all  Dunno the front bushings on the super stock springs are bigger than the bushings on the slant six leaf springs. if it tuns out my shackles dont fit but the bushings do i might just make some shackles... or see if the ones on my cuda or challenger work.
