Quick Frame Connector question?
« on: June 07, 2008, 07:55:17 PM »

I have the weight of the car on the tires but no motor or tranny. I have the connectors ready to install. Should I wait til the motor is in? Thanx

I've installed them either way with no problems.  The important thing is to make sure that you have the car supported equally all the way around to keep it from flexing when installing them.

what exactly do you mean-equally supported all the way around-do you mean in addition the the weight being on the tires??
I'll soon be ding mine, and I sure don't want it twisting

I place 2 stands under the very front frame rails, 2 under the body at the trans crossmember, 2 under the rear of the car at the front spring box, and 2 at the very rear of the car at the rear of the frame rail.  Then I suspend the rear axle a bit just to keep it up and out of the way.

I remove the wheels and tires to make rolling around under the car easier using a creeper.
