I don't mind cleaning up after a good meal that I didn't have to cook. I'll pretty much do anything not to have to cook!

Can Randy cook? Good question Pedals... I've seen him make coffee a few times, and he will feed the dog if he gets up first.... But as far as cooking, I usually take the reins and do all of that. Oh wait.... ![\/][](http://www.bigblockdart.com/Smileys/classic/finger020.gif) I have seen him make himself a PB and Jelly sandwich for a bedtime snack.... I guess the relationship is too new for me to see his abilities in the kitchen.....

I really like cooking. German food is my fav. I also like preparing anything that I have shot. Venison, goose, rabbit, dove. Have had some moose and elk from friends of mine. YUMMY!!! Every October I have a big bonfire party at my house. I make a huge pot of venison chili. Seems to go over well every time CE

I bought this used about 3 weeks ago, and have cooked every Sunday since! Ribs, brisket, chicken, sausages, turkey breast, pork butt, all in the last 3 weekends! I agree with Jim, chunk charcoal only! Apple and pecan for a little smokey flavor. I just sold one of those on craigslist for $25. I can't cook for the life of me. I can grill though. My girlfriends son is a great cook.

My father and I used to make smoked turkeys in a smoker exactly like that. Those were awesome.

Jim where do you get your mesquite at?
I get it at Smart and Final. About $13 for a 40lb bag. It's also available in smaller bags at most grocery stores in the area.

When camping with the Scouts the leaders will often have a Dutch Oven cook off. 2 of our leaders are always fighting to win, so I tried to sneak in under the radar with a secret dish. I found a Memphis Barbeque Shrimp Chile recipe on line, and win hands down every time. I'd like to say thanks to the cook and give her her due credit but I forgot her name. If you google"Memphis Barbeque shrimp Chile", Her name and restuarant will come up with other receipes, Joe.

I am a fairly good cook and griller, but baking is not my forte' I just whipped up a mean marinated 14oz chuck steak on the grill last Saturday that would give any $50 steak a run for the money, my mouth is watering just thinking about it again. All you need to survive is steak and a ceasar salad.

I have a recipe that I made for the best smoked salmon chowder you'll ever eat. I use salmon that I smoke myself, and the brine for it will knock you flat on yer ass.
Does brewing your own beer count too?

Is this the recipe because there were a couple? It sounds sooo good. Everybody is talking about such good stuff, my mouth waters reading this post! Memphis Barbecue Shrimp Chili Recipe Online Shrimp Recipes Memphis Barbecue Shrimp Chili 1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 3 tablespoons olive oil 5 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon hot sauce (Tabasco or similar brand) 1 teaspoon liquid smoke 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon freshly ground coarse black pepper 1 tablespoon chili powder 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 lemon, sliced very thin White rice and /or French bread Peel and clean the shrimp. Melt the butter and oil in a large, heavy skillet. Add the garlic and sauté until soft. Add the shrimp and cook until pink. Add the barbecue, Worcestershire, and hot sauces, the liquid smoke, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper and chili powder. Simmer 10 minutes. Add the parsley and lemon slices. Simmer 5 to 7 minutes longer. This makes a soupy, saucy chili. Serve on white rice to absorb the gravy or with chunks of French bread for dipping. Source: "Chili Nation" by Jane and Michael Stern

I actually impressed my wife (then girlfriend) with my favorite turnip dish I make at Thanksgiving. No one that thinks they like turnips loves this dish.

I love to cook. To me the kitchen is nothing more than another shop full of power tools and hand tools. The best part is, you get to eat what you make! How cool is that?

I don't think I've ever eaten a turnip.
