« on: June 10, 2008, 11:08:49 AM »

Need education on Fuel Cell. Looking at a 20 Gal. When would a fuel return line be used? Old stock tang will not fit due to coil overs.

the only fuel system that really needs a return is a EFI system or if you are using one of the big fuel pumps that have the bypass right next to the pump like the Magnafuel 500 or the BG400.  however you can run a return on any fuel system if you want to. it does help the life of the electric pumps and cools the fuel going thru the pump by circulating it. hope this helps

Don't forget to have a breather. Without it you could have teh pump sucking the tank into a vacuum and starving the system of fuel becasue of it. I used the return point in the tank for that purpose (see pic). What you can't see in the pic is the hose turning into metal line that is coiled about three turns upwards and then turned towards the floor and through it. This allows the fuel to wander and slosh as much as it likes without the ability to escape to the ground even of the car is upside down.
