I put the door handles back on along with new locks. It seems like the pushbutton lock on the top of the door doesn't have as much travel as it should. I can close the door and it will stay shut but I can't lock the door with my key! It only turns about 70 degrees to the right and left. It seems that something is hanging up? Any ideas? The striker mechanism and door latch were removed and left in the door. Is there some spring loaded mechanism that needs to be reset when putting it back on?

There's a double latch on the mechanism. Open the door and use a screwdriver to completely latch the mechanism. Then check the lock. If it works that way you probably need to adjust the striker.

I'm moving the striker all over and still can't get to lock. My buddy thinks the guy that took it apart bent the rods. No real way to tell though. What a bich.

Disconnect the rod that connects the lock cylinder to the actuator in the latch. Then try to operate the lock mechanism on the latch by hand. If it works that way, you can look for bent rods, out of adjustment linkage etc. Check to see that the threaded rod that sticks up through the door opening isn't binding on something. That rod is easily bent. Also, with the rod for the lock cylinder removed, try cycling the key in the lock itself to be sure it is working correctly.
