if anything use the factory high volume hemi/440-six pack mechanical pump made by carter...holley has a nice one as well..the stock 383 pump was fairly weak

I've been looking to replace my electric with mechanical. I've narrowed it down to the big Edelbrock or the Holley pump. They are the only ones I've come across that use 3/8"  fittings as opposed to 1/4".

Well, the super slick RacePumps beauty is my top choice but I'm probably going to cheap out and get one of the others.

I run the carter Hi-Volume mechanical after I've taken it apart and ported the inlets and outlets along with opening up the pipe fittings. You will probably fall short with the stock pump on that motor.
