That's THE COOLEST BREAK I've EVER seen.
Did you see The Fastest Indian? You have to build a shelf labeled Offerings to the Gods of Speed and rest that up there.
I wouldn't call that a bad day. I get off on stuff like that. You have a trailer, right? You got home, right? You have cool as shit parts to show your friends... All in all, NOT a bad day.

that's a great attitude! i think if that happened to me, i'd initially be pissed off but after that i'd show it off to everyone that came over to my house, although, my piggy would still squeel...

That attitude started years ago when I used to build stroker Chevys for Cigarettes and Fountains. Those customers used to break stuff mint. Then I got into diesel generators. Nothing cooler than a Cat D399 running away and spitting out the rods, which are about 18" long and weigh about 35 pounds.
Once, I went to a job where a harmonic balancer flew off the front of an 1800 RPM engine and went through two sheetrock walls and finally came to rest in a cinder block wall. It probably weighed about 50 pounds.
There's probably something wrong with me, cause I dig broken parts.

thats a one of a kind bit of art work that you could never buy. hang it on the garage wall, and it will provide conversation for a lot of years to come. sorry it happened to you though . yes it does qualify
What do you mean hang it in the GARAGE, that would be in the house @ my place! Oh wait, maybe that's why I'm not married! some days.......naw ,I'll tell the truth. Nearly every day I wish I were not married. maybe then I could get to spend some money on the stuff that I want to . not on stupid crap like horses , them stupid things cost me over $300 per month to keep.and I have zero interest in them yet we own 2 the only thing I have learned about them is they eat money and krap out work! Sorry everybody, I was just writing out checks and had to have a rant. my point is that at least without the three nags I have to support I could have some cool trophies like that.

Speaking of being married, I just informed my lovely wife that my new mountain bike is going to be 3600 dollars. Her expression was priceless.
Saturday morning, we were on our way somewhere and she felt I was driving too fast. I said you've been driving with me for seven years and NOW you decide I drive too fast??
Then I said wait til the roadrunner gets built, then you'll have something to scream about. She informed me every drive I take in that car will be solo. AWESOME.
