Changing the speedo pinion...
« on: June 16, 2008, 09:02:01 PM »

How much fluid will I lose if I change out the speedo pinion on a 727?  It's been so long since I changed one, I can't remember if draining the trans is necessary or not.  If so, I will give the trans a full service  throw money

Depends how fast you work. lol  I suppose you could find something to plug the hole with while you change the gear. When was the last time the tranny was serviced? Might not be a bad idea.
Don't feel bad....It's been a long time for me too.

I'm thinking that I don't want to have to clean up a large mess, so I'll go ahead and drop the pan, change the filter and fliuid while I am at it.  Besides, I have some nice new shiny stainless steel cooler lines to install as well   throw money
