I was wondering, do you guys have some suggestions for me.  I'm getting the car worked on, and wonderin what I can use that's pretty lightweight, but still looks good, and can hold gauges and a switch panel

Aluminum will work just fine as long as you don't go too thin. Could be made to look really nice too!

Here's the one in my 66 Dart...........got it from Jegs........it's one you get and cut to fit your car. It has 3 braces on top and 2 under the dash.

John........forgot to say that the gauge insert for the tach n speedo I fabbed from aluminum and the others for the small gauges I got thru a street rod shop. From Jegs all you get is the dash.

I guessed that you had to do something different with the guages, but thanks for clarifying, I'm going to have my dad talk to the guy that's doin my interior and see what he says.  I've got him doin some pretty cool stuff already.

I'm kind of wanting to get away from the original, cuz it's steel, and I don't want to have to take the original and cut it to fit around the bars.

I'm gonna take it apart and see how light I can get it, but I don't think I'll be able to get it as light as an aluminum one
