RCI 2200A FUEL CELL. ADDITIONAL HELP QUESTIONS.
« on: June 18, 2008, 07:58:26 PM »

Huh Here is my plan. I'm cutting out the spare tire cavity and building a new cavity to sink & hold the Fuel Cell aprox. 4 inches down. Question #1? Should the fuel spouts Out & Return face the rear of the Car or can they be to the right side? Question #2 or more. The two spouts at the top of the tank, one is for Venting I asume and the other is for Roll over with a valve. Both are Male endded spouts  8AN what should I attach here and run where? I may have missed a posting of the past. Any other safty tips for running lines and Elect. Pump loctions.  explode
Any literature & Pics would be Great guys & gals. Oh- The Car is a 68 Valiant 2dr. Post. BBV.

The sump should face the rear of the car to help feed the pump during acceleration.  The two fittings on the sump are outlets.  One of the fittings on top is a vent with an integrated roll over valve.  The other should be used as a return if you use a return style regulator.  Here's what I've got so far.

So the return if not used should be plugged? Should anything be attached to the Roll over spout?

The unused fittings can be plugged with a -8 cap.  The vent should have either a hardline or hose routed to the outside of the car.  Mine will likely go straight down through the floor pan.  If the vent doesn't have a roll over valve, you should put a few loops in the vent hose to act like a roll over valve.

Remember the closer your pump is to the rear the more effecient it will be. The further forward it is the harder it has to work to draw the fuel in. Also it isn't a bad idea to put some kind of filter in before the pump(s) to increase pump life. Here's what I did...
The 2 -8 lines feed a "Y" fitting that becomes a -10 to the fuel pump inlet side outside the trunk floor.
