Remote mirror cable routing??

I"m just putting back drivers remote mirror on the 73 Dart.  How exactly do the 3 cables route not to hit the glass?   THe cable has 1 plastic clip on it that will pass through a 1/4" hole AND a sheetmetal clasp.    I can't for the life of me remember where these 2 clips attach.

I was in the same boat recently and couldn't get any answers. I ended up using a nylon tie to hold the cable to a small hole on some inner bracing at the front of the door near the upper hinge. That alone didn't keep the cable out of the way of the glass. I'm using sound deadener in my doors so I took a small strip of deadener and "taped" the cable to the outer skin near the front of the door in one spot (like a band-aid). This ultimately kept the cable out of the way of the glass.

They run to the front of the door. Should be a clip by the door skin and on the door panel side.

Turn out there are 3 items to deal with.  1) plasitic hoop tie-down  2)  3" long plastic sleeve   3)  metal clip.   Here is what I found.

The plastic sleeve slides as close as possible to the toggle.  It keeps the window glass from sliding against the metal cables.   Next is the loop.  If you look inside the door where the upper door hinge bolts come into the door, there is a raised sheetmetal area with one  3/16"  hole in it.  That is were the loop fastens too.   ONce I got the sleeve and hoop, the mechanisme worked fine and the window works without hitting the cable.  The little metal clip?  I still don't know exactly were to put it. I didn't use it.
