the voltage regulator is new too......but why on the alternator .....you have the wire that bolt on the little screw stud.....you have the little ''plug in'' type wire and on the alternator there is another ''plug in'' but on the car i have only two wire that comes out for the alternator....little stud and one for the ''plug in'' wire......the alternator that i bought is made for 1974+ mopar...and my car is 1968....i did that cuz for my car they only made 35 amp alt and the one i pick is 65 amp.....well....this is a long story but do the third plug on the alternator is left empty or it have to be ground or something?Huh?? thanks!!!!!! hope that you guys understand what im talking about    thanks again

Or you could throw a chevy alternator on there and never have another problem again.... One thing GM did right.

Or better yet, get yourself a Denso. The replacement Mopar alternators and regulators just don't seem to last at all. I have a friend with several cars, and he's forever swapping out one or the other and occasionally both. I would never use a Mopar alternator again on anything other than a resto project.

I bought a Powermaster 95 amp unit, new not reman....and it seems to be performing nicely so far, but in case it should fail, I have a late model Denso from a Toyota 4runner with the pigtail connector, as a backup unit.
