Pointers for Craigslist Finds

I found some parts on Craigslist that I want to buy. I've contacted the seller (out of state). He seems straight forward. I'm planning on using a Paypal account to conduct the transaction. Any pointers, warnings? Good experiences or bad?

Where is the guy? I sell stuff on Craig's list (more success there than e-bay), but all I've done is local stuff.

He's in Santa Clara (best I can remember). I'm in San Antonio Texas.
