Duster is going to the track this weekend(UPDATE)
« on: June 25, 2008, 06:35:08 PM »

I finally have my Duster ready to race. Going to jump right in and run the OSCA event. gonna run 9.90 index and Pro comp which is bracket racing on the .500 pro tree. 9.90 uses the .400 pro tree. I'm gonna use the transbrake for the .400 and foot brake the .500.

I have to get my comp license as well. Gonna be alot of passes for its first time out. I figure no better way to learn the car than under a real race.

I do not know If I will run an all out pass or not. I need to tune in 9.90 but may run it hard one pass at least to see mph. I put the training wheels back on just incase it tries to go on the back bumper, my tailpipes would not like that. The bars are set pretty high. I'm gonna play with the front suspension Friday to limit some travel. When I bought it, it had almost no travel in the front to keep it down.

Last year I won in a brand X I had never driven before qualifying so being lost in a car does not distract me when racing. The transbrake might rattle me a little the first time I let go of the button 4 speed

Hey great to hear your getting the car out this weekend ! I`m still waiting for my turn . Our track (IHRA ) is like this ;  all out if you`re teched and licenced ,  9.50 if you aren`t licenced , and 10.00 if the chassis is not certified .
  Good Luck out there !

Its first outing didn't go well. The electric fan seized . Ran 9.904@137 with a soft 1.40 60'. Engine is real peaky, didn't really pull till 6000. Gonna put in my 5900 stall 8" and try again. this 5000 9.5" is too tight.

I'm home to get my Volare to race. Gotta wrench on it in the morning and head back to the track.
