i have a 1983 cop car 360 and was with powersteering I believe its the Saganaw type (its rounded) pump that is vented and leaks like all hell, was wondering if I could put a Federal pump in with Federal brackets etc or does this create a problem with my power steering box?? any tips on where to get new brackets for either or pump would be a great help Thanks Keith

I've gone in the opposite direction; I took off the federal pump in favor of the (round) Saginaw on my 360/408. I would just do the swap and deal with life without having a P/S puddle under my car. As I recall there is a issue with the conversion. It has been a while, but check the fittings on the hoses, pump and P/S box. Memory says there is something different there that caused me grief and I couldn't do it in my application for some reason. I don't remember if it was a clearance or fitting or just what but there was a herdle of some kind that needed to be overcome.
