Run a compression check. That sounds like a blown head gasket between those two cylinders.

spark plugs are brand new as well as i rewired teh cylinders thinking i had them crossed, btu no matter how i switched them at the dist. no difference in idle.

i still have to run a  compression check there.

Are you getting a spark at those two cylinders? Whether they're wired correctly or not you should still get a spark. Definitely do a compression check. Two adjacent cylinders not hitting is definitely suspect. Could very well be a blown head gasket or valves hanging up.

spark plugs are brand new

Don't trust them just cause they're new. Swap plugs from a known good cylinder and test them again.
