What is the best tool for grinding welds down on a body panel without warping the panel or gouging the metal too much? I have an angle grinder with a grinding wheel, but I don't think i have the skill to grind down the welds without messing up and taking too much material off. Is there a wheel that is a little less agressive? Thanks a lot..

You can use the angle grinder, but use a big sweeping motion across the entire weld - back and forth - so you don't stay on one spot too long.

I use a 40 grit sanding disc on my 4" side grinder.
