Engine Compartment painted...again
« on: July 07, 2008, 02:17:26 PM »

Finally got it painted again, the first time, the parts store sold us some bad catalyst or the wrong kind or something...all i know is i had to spend about three weeks stripping gummy paint with a rag and lacquer thinner ...turned out a little better this time though!!

Looks real nice! Thats a shame when you have to do something over because of someone else mistake. Did they cover any cost to redo it?

so far as i know that is what it is....i know a lot of people scrap the a/c when they put a big block in, but when it gets to 110-113 in the summers, and its a daily driver...a/c is necessary...

sent the headers [proparts semi-fenderwells] off to be Jet-Hotted today also!

the primered spot marks the worst place on the body, some one hit it, and what i thought was a good panel turned out to be an inch of bondo Frustrated

my dana 60 and relocated leaf springs, not sure if you can see it in the pic, but i added a half leaf to the springs also. notice the big drums out back also. I have a chrome differential cover, but i havent put it on...

other than the promed spot on the drivers side, the body is in immaculate shape

I didnt start with a numbers matching v8 car or anything, so i thought id make it my own, its getting a 67 dart gt dash [if for no other reason the key is in the dash instead of the coulumn and i love it] as well as the lowback bench seats instead of the huge ones that came in 72 with the moulded in headrest and stuff....

got 12.5 inch wide rear tires on dragstar lookalikes....[didnt have the dough for realones at the time] and strange S/T 35 spline axles going through a detroit locker...
