My 72 came with a /6. I think the 440 is much better.

I think Swinger was just a trim package.

My 70 is a slant 6 car. It was just a trim package just like GT. I think in 70 you could get the /6, 318 or a 340.

I think for 69 the Swinger package required a V8. For 70 it more or less replaced the GT option. They even made Swinger 4 doors......
Does anyone know if there was a Swinger Convt offered in 69?

my 69 swinger was a /6. there was no swinger convt in 69 they were only gt or gts. the swinger was almost the bottom of the barrel for the 69, they made the swinder 340 something similar to the road runner, the cheapest model with a HP drivetrain. lightwieght body without all the trim and options. just power.

Never a four door Swinger or a convertible Swinger.

I would have to go with Jim on that. I've never seen a 4 door swinger.

The one I saw may have been a Mexican market car? Or just a case of more emblems in the garage than brain cells?

I believe when the 340 Swinger came out in 69 it was to be a low buck option. Kinda like the Roadrunner. I have a poster of a 1970 Dart Swinger 340 that says it cost $2,808 so I would say it was a very good bang for the buck with the 340. Ron

Swinger was just a model name given to the two door hardtop cars, all available Dart engines (for that model year) could be optioned with the car. My 1971 could be purchased either the /6 or 318. The 340s ended as an option in 1970.
