That's the factory recommended fix. Big or small? If small, arms are easy to get.

Weld 'em and go. IF you're going to stay with the small ball joints I would recommend getting a spare set and cleaning them up for the next time you have to do this.

This is probably a silly question, but I haven't heard of this so the question is for future reference; Are you supposed to weld them in all the way around or just what?

4 good tacks should do.If you try welding all the way around the BJ will probally be toast. We welded a lot of GM vans lowers in at work.Never had any come loose even after a bunch of daily miles.Rocky

Yeah, three or four will do with a good welder.

That's what I was thinking/hoping but I figured I'd defer to those who've actually done it to be safe. Thanks

I'm an old fossil, and never seen these on an A-body; Bought the disc changer-over kit from Master Power for my 70 Duster. The uppers have that screw-in ball joint. The female bushing is welded in 3 places, about 3/4" inch long.

thats the way it goes kim. I finally have a cement plan for when mine goes to the blasters. August 30th is when I have to have it completely ready to go. Gotta take the cars out of the car now and put them in the new shed.
