There's a whole lotta floor reconstruction/modification as well as reinventing the trans crossmember involved in that swap. I refused to deal with it as it required cutting out the upper section of the trans crossmember where it underlines the floor. That's also a structural piece that you will be weakening by cutting soooo much of it away to clear the OD unit itself. For a street car even the Keisler 4L60E would be better. And I don't like the 4L60E. Of course, the Gear Vendors unit would be cheaper than that too. But I'm assuming that you already have the 518, or have access to one cheap, and that's why your asking. The 518 works good and readily swaps into vans and pick-ups; just not so much with the cars.

Even the vans you have to cut the crossmember (I can go outside and take pics of the one I did on my 440 Van with a JVX adapter), and in spite of it mostly bolting in with the later model van trans crossmember, it was still a PITA.
The van is probably going to be parted out soon. Too much cancer in the body. Plus my wife just went out and bought a fuel economy car on Sunday - an 06 r/t hemi charger.....

For the 85 C Cab I made a plate, with spacers, that used the 518's original mounting bolt locations for its mount. I found the 85 mount could be bolted onto that plate making the whole thing pretty simple; no welding required. No mods to the 85's crossmember either. All the mod's were in between the two so no mod's were made to eithers' exhisting parts. Just a whole lotta measuring.
