Any recommendations for a Dart roof which looks like someone sat on and left a 2 foot diameter "oil canned" area just ahead of the center cross support? It's about a 1/4" low. I've been saving that for last...

i did it to lure you over here . the reason is i have no email account and i have to resist the temptation to spend any more time online. but anyways you trucks door panel is already shrunk and you could solve most of the problem by smoothing down the weld on both sides(remove door latch ect.) and using a hammer and dolly right on the weld bead. it is not something you learn from words you really have to do it but again on your buddies ride first. take care

i can't give any advice without seeing the problem at least with a picture.
but from past experience more damage is created by good intentions on low crowned and flat panels like hoods and roofs.
most of the real damage is at the outermost edge of the circle of the dent, this area tends to shrink when it is manhandled and the fix is to stretch the shrunk/compressed zone.
anyways it sounds like it has had an unsuccessful attempt at repair already, just remember that the center is probably undamaged metal and pushing it outwards without dealing with the outer edges simutaineously will make more work out of an easy repair.
get a picture.
take care.
