My neighbor has a nice 1971 Caddy Coupe DeVille for sale. It is real clean and only has 32,000 orig. miles on it. It has the 472 B.B. and the air works. It is as nice as a 32k version should be. I can buy it for around $3500. Should I buy it?

If you can afford to feed it, I would say yes. That is a nice car to take on long trips.

I work at a Chev-Cadillac dealership and a dude brought in his '71 Eldorado convertible in. It had the ~500 inch motor in it so it's a little bigger, and he says in town it gets 6 mpg. It runs good and is mint cosmetically.
Nice cars, provided you can stand the fuel mileage. As long as it's not a daily driver it'd be okay I guess.

Fuel mileage really isn't an issue. It would be only a fair weather cruiser. I live with my 440 E body mileage, so, this is close. I really wanted a 2 door C body in this condition, but I know this car and it is also a Land Yacht!

I bought it, and it is awesome!!! It has has a prior re-paint, but it looks good. No bondo! Clean interior. The air is ice cold. It has a slight ,miss in it, but I am guessing it could be from old gas. The chrome is like new. I got it home and washed it. ( It takes twice as long to wash and chamois as the Challenger,).

Nice car at a good price, I wouldn't sell mine for that, but mine only has 29,000 miles
500 Cu In and it really isn't that bad on gas. I have taken it on vacation before, never checked mileage but when i fill it up, seem average for the car
I would like to have a 73 Eldorado Convertible
these pictures are 10 years old, my Prowler before it got the graphics, 81 Imperial probably had about 13,000 miles then (14,500 now) and the Caddy proabably 26,000
Have had the Prowler 10years today

Wildcat, I have a slight miss in it. I think it is fuel related. How tough is the fuel filter to change on it? I think the 472 and the 500 are similar.( At least in the fuel delivery area.) Ramman

Yeah if its a qudrajet it should be a tiny filter about an inch or so long and about a 1/2 in diameter. You have to unscrew the fuel line where it goes into the carb and then use a 1 inch wrench and pull the adapter where the fuel line was out of the carb and the filter will be in behind that. That is usually the only stock fuel filter gm used on a car with a quadrajet. Hope that helps Good luck with it. It sure looks like a nice cruiser.

That Caddy is sweet. My dad had many of them when I was a kid. I counted 9 at one time. No, he wasn't a pimp, he just like Caddy's. I would have bought it if you didn't. The again, not knowing where it is located, maybe not. Great buy for a great car I say!

I haven't looked yet, but I thought it was a Rochester carb. Is this the same as a quadrajet? The fuel line goes in the front and I can see where a 1 inch wrench might be used. I'll try it, the worst that can happen is I'll need to buy an Eddy carb and keep the old one.
