I watched all the video's, and pretty much WOW can describe them all. I just wish I had about $50k to spend on a motor.

He did the turbo engine build on that 70 Camaro for Hot Rod. He does beautiful work.  I think he also did a big Mopar for a past Engine Masters, but he was a DNF.

On his website, he did have some pretty cool mopar engines as well. Just no video!! So maybe he's not too bad after all.

He used a big Mopar for engine masters because he felt it had advantages over the other brands, like shaft rockers, rod length to stroke ratio... I can't remember why his engine didn't finish.

No need for Nelsons, build your own:

Here is a small video from last year, lost traction in final but still won the race because of the opponents red light:
http://vision.rambler.ru/users/estdima/1/38/

We put that oen together initially as a joke, we wanted to build a street C-bod that would run at least as well as our previous A-bodies did. This is not a throughly thought out system, but rather just slapped together to learn how these should be done.

The car is a Plymouth VIP 1967, 10" converter, JW ultraglide and Dana 60. The engine is a 477 cu in RB, K1 crank, 7.1" K1 rods, Ross pistons, 4.5" bore, 3.75" stroke. Upstairs is old Indy stuff, the intake has been converted for EFI by glueing injector bungs on. Throttle body is a ford 95mm unit and the adapter is Wilson. Headers and exhaust are self made, and so is the pressure tubing etc, mild steel. IC is locally custom built and the turbos were bought from a swap meet. CR is 8.6:1 and the cam is a solid roller with around 260 degrees at .050" and .68" lift. EFI is run by Autornic, and the ignition is MSD7 with a hall sensor in the crankshaft, also guided by the Autronic.

So far we haven't run it a whole lot, and tuned it even less. Actually, we have leaned it out some, but haven't even checked the initial timing after the first start up. The engine still runs pretty rich with about 10.5:1 A/F, and the ignition curve is completely taken out of the hat, and really haven't even checked where it is at the moment. The engine has been pretty much trouble free, except for the last time when we switched to T&D rockers and had some pushrod interference problems, that caused some other problems and we lost at least one exhaust valve and one piston. Haven't pulled the engine out yet, but will on saturaday to see if we can still put it back together for this driving season or not.

The experiences so far have been pretty rewarding, it did cost a lot to build, and there is a lot to learn, but there seems to be a lot of potential. We have so far run a best of 8.22 / 168 mph, on DOT's and pump gas, and that was with the forementioned problems. If we can get it back togetehr, we will try a little race gas and more boost in our finals, if we can't, we'l make some changes and get everything completed and dynotuned before next summer, so that we will for once be ready when the season begins. Shouldn't have a lot of updating elsewhere in the car during the next winter, unlike during the past ones.  http://kuvablogi.com/blog/745/1
