Elephant ears

When you fab up a set of elephant ears, do you have to use a set of rubber bushings like in the tech pages, or can you just bolt it solid to a piece of angle iron welded to the frame rail?  Thanks guys

You can bolt it solid.  Some people use the rubber to prevent engine vibration transfer to the frame.
