Spray gun tip question
« on: July 16, 2008, 10:28:23 AM »

When I ordered my gun a while ago I had a choice of going with different tip sizes. I chose 1.4 tip. However this primer manufacturer recommends a minimum of 1.5 tip size. I am trying to find a different tip for my gun. Having trouble finding just the tips. Everyone wants to sel0l you the whole gun. I originally bought it from Eastwood. It is a Sharpe Finex 300. Nothing special but good enough for primer. I have already shot some stuff with it and it seems to work well enough. Just need a larger tip for the new primer. Anyone know where i can find tips or does the gun come with one size tip and that is it?

i suggest thinning the primer out a tad more to see if it'll spray ok.

You should be able to get a tip for a sharp, but it might cost you the same as a cheap primer gun. I get by with a 1.9 for filler primer and a 1.4 for paint and reduced epoxy primer.
