Gees I wish I could post up some pictures of my 440, looks preety similar, but Im clever enough to have a cage with bars that go from the K member thru the fire wall to maintain the factory strength since cutting out the inner guards weakens the front subframe, these chassi rails are only made of folded panel steel, the front chassi strength it from all the spot welds chrysler put in but since you have cut all that out one sudden stop or bump on the curb will fold your front chassi like paper,
nobody with any knowledge will dissagree with me on this, its a fact & you two guys are on borrowed time without the front chassi rails supported, If you dissagree with me then jack the car up untill the front wheels are off the ground and try opening and closing the doors....

i did take that into acount an yes i did fab up some suports for the front if u look real close i have two plates per side both 1/4" thick an i have a 8 tp cage an frame ties an yes my doors both open in the air i did all the test an all the thinking before i cut the car up an the factory sheetmetal isnt anything near as strong as what i welded in.One of these days im going to fab up front support bars that tie into the cage an as far as for the rest of the front clip im going to run fiberglass up there so theres no need for a tank to hold up 40lbs of fiberglass!

dont get me wrong, I like what you guys are doing. but where the chassi will fold is where it comes forward from the floor, trust me they are weak once the inner guards are cut out, the direct connection manuals coverd this back in the 70s, where you have added bracing is not the weak point and having the shocks set like that with no room for downward travel will only add to or cause the chassi flex , and launching is not the issue since the weight is coming off the chassi, an 8 point cage is fine but still wont support the front subframe, you just gotta weld some pipe from the top of the K member back thru the firewall to the cage inside, as I said, jack the car up with the wheels off the ground and try opening and closing the doors, trust me Im a great fan of cut our inners and fender exits but safty first

both cars are very cool, its just that the safty and advantage of a stiff chassi out rule the cost of not having front bars, I love both cars, but perhaps the zombie abit more only because Im a guy that likes a self made project, but that black beastie screams out "does not play well with others" in traffic

Nice car Tony! Have you taken it to the track yet? Did they say anything about the fire-wall mounted regulator?

Well its kinda hard to explane but i used reviets at the highest points on the wall like 6 total an arond all the egdes i used foam padding to stop the vibs,an as far as in the car to keep out the fumes im going to look for some of that foam spray crap that expands an seals off the inside of the car unless some else gives me a better idea. The car was a smog hog A/C blowin pig when i got it so the fire wall had nothing but holes in it an it looked like shit

Tony GTS - With all the monkey bars in the car, how does one get to the back seat? I saw it, so I know it's there! I'd have to shoot the first kid that walked down the console on the way to the back seat, ya know. But it looks way fun though.
