Anybody had these on for a while that can attest to their long term street survivabilty? long term useage? Usually things like this are given bushings instead of Heim joints if they are for street use (Alston Chassis Works for example offers rear 4 links, ladder bars, etc in both heim joints (race) and polyurethane for street). I'm not knocking it/them I'm just wondering about the long term use as I have seen the UCA mounts on the frame tear/crack and I've had to weld them up before. That doesn't mean that the guy who owned those cars wasn't using it for the Baja 1000, but it does generate some questions.

I think they look blardy Orsum, Im thinkin in 12 months I will be investing in a pair, Iv heard the chassi reactes quicker with the helm joints than it does with the bushes, is that true?  if so then it means the bushes are obsorbing weight transfer

agree, id like to know that also, the roads i drive on around here could be used for the Baja.

So far, I've verified some of the early alterktions I've sold are up over 60,000 miles with the original rod ends I shipped them with. I do use a particular rod end, but that even surprised me to last that many miles over 6 or 7 years.... In fact, one of those high-mileage systems is in this months Hot Rod - Gary Powell's Hemi Dart. I think he got his system in 03 and drives the wheels off it.

I'm running a set on my Dart on the street.  Haven't had any issues with them yet......but then again, I've only got about 30 miles on them!  Grin Grin

The back country roads that I am driving on are not much better than a baja trail in some parts.  I do like the the speed at which the front end reacts.....there is soooooo much less bind-up in the front end now.  Next I am going to order a set of the brake reaction struts from Bill and then the front end should be nice and smooth acting!

i noticed  from your pictures that your shock towers aren't supported... you took the inner fenders off and they're ok? also how are you holding your fenders on?

probably a dumb noob question, but hey what can i say.... haven't seen it before with out the front frame bars like mopowers has.

have had my alter-k with those heim joints on the car since june 2006. i like to think i drive my car allot. they are still holding up just fine.

Took it up to northern minnesota last year 12 hours each way.. Good stuff Bill !
