ok i have a question, has anyone used/heard of anyone using rubber iso-clamps [i think there called??] to mount theyre leaf springs? i am basically puttin the entire running gear from a 72 new yorker into my 72 dart [440, 727 trans, 8 3/4 axle ends, and rearend mounts]. i modified the clamps to fit the dart...[had to shave a little off the end so the shock mounts would line up] i added a half leaf to my springs..and so that made the clamps a little tighter, its mostly a street/strip [with emphasis on the street] car and its not exactly being built for the curves...just wondering if anyone has used or even heard of the things...seems like it would make it ride better...so i mean, its like i said, they arent going anywhere...they are clamped in good.... thx
They are generally considered to hamper handling the enforcement versions of the same years did away with them and mounted the springs metal to metal. They were there in an attempt to quiet the ride down . Chryco
