UPS Car Show

I thought I'd get this info out early this year. It's our 8th annual United Way car show, Oct 18, 2008. This is a big one day event. Last year we had over 1100 show cars. In years past we have had the UPS top Fueler, Dale Jarets car, A Nascar simulator, the UPS truck with flames,a chassis dyno, live band and lots of other stuff. I don't know what special events are scheduled for this year yet. We're located on I95 half way between Baltimore and DC. Pre-registration is $20 and admission is $2. My boss said I could rope off as much of the parking lot for my friends as I wanted. That way we would'nt have to worry about door dings from strangers. There's a Holiday Inn next door with trailer parking and we're trying to get group rates. We have trailer parking for those coming in the morning. A couple guys from Hot Hemi Heads web site bring their Hemi powered rods. We have a burn out for distance contest and it would be great to see some of you guys hangin the wheels on your cars. I have a few DVDs of past shows I could mail to groups or clubs or anyone that would pass them around. If anyone is interested let me know here and I'll get more info out, contact #'s etc, Joe.

Yes we're in Laurel/Burtonsville. You can see our facillity from I95. You get off the Burtonsville exit and make your first left and that's it. We have a number of people who come from New Jersy and Pa every year. The show is getting the reputation as one of the biggest single day shows on the East Coast. Last some guys from theTidewater Mopar Club said they would have come if I gave them more notice so words going out to them also, Joe.

Yes, several of them, just not the ones your used to seeing. To give you an idea of what to expect we have a saying at work"UPS, where the men are men and the women are too". Come on down it's a real nice show, Joe.

Many years ago when I lived in Maryland they use to have a Mopar Show called" Mopars on the Beach". It was held somewhere near Brandywine.....down US 301. Do they still have one there?

Take I-95 South/North(all depending on which way your coming)Get off at exit 33b,go to the first light(Sweitzer Lane)make a left onto Sweitzer Lane and go about 300 ft.No way you can miss it.It's on the left.I do belive the adress is 6335 Sweitzer Lane.If you know how to get on I-95 you won't have any trouble finding it.Just one off ramp and 2 turns.

If you check out his web site 3 or 4 other web sites pop up with info or chat about the show.

As soon as I can get my daugter to get the flyer on the computer I'll post it, feel free to copy and pass them around.

If you think you can make it PM me and I'll keep count so I know how many spots to rope off. Our parking lot has some older spots that are real big and I've grabbed them. The newer parts of the lot are real small spots and I always worry about door dings, Joe.


abodyjoe, I went to school in Charlotte Hall Md, that's below Brandywine. But, that was in the late 60's, man I'm gettin old. Don't know about that show but it sounds like a good one. There is a big show on the  Boardwalk at Ocean City MD every year. Like to see you back down here, Joe.

It's almost time for the show. Anyone who would like to come fill out the registration form at the bottom of the flyer and mail in with $20. or $25 at the gate.

Directions from points North: I95 South to MD198 West, exit 33B towards Burtonsville (about 20 miles South of Baltimore) Go .8 mile and turn left on Sweitzer LA  There will be police directing traffic.

Directions from points South: I95 north to MD198 West Exit 33 towards Burtonsvile (About 15 miles North of DC) Same as above.

Directions from points East: RT97 North to RT 32 west to I95 south, Same as above

Directions from points West: I70 East to RT32 East to I95 South, same as above

I forgot to mention the phone numbers on the flyer are not working. As of Monday there were only 198 cars registered. Starting Tuesday morning calls started coming in at 40 to 50 calls per hour and killed our lines. the only way to pre-register is with a check and mail in the info on the flyer above, thanks Joe.
