Motor is in......well sitting in the engine compartment anyway. Moved up the AlterK 2" into the frame rails. Weldtech pan is 5" from the ground. One little spot on the hood will be clearanced.
Moved back about 2" and centered in the engine compartment. Firewall/tunnel coming out next.....as soon as my Quicktime Bell gets here.

I was going to ask about that as well. If you look at the design of the AlterKtion, everything moves together, so it's just a matter of welding and boxing the frame rails properly, right?
I'd love to see some pics.

Rob, Congrats on the progress! This is pretty innovative and exciting. Can you post bigger pictures? Those you've posted are just teasers, much too teeny, weeny to see much detail. I'm REALLY curious how the lower end of the engine and accessories fit between the frame rails. Keep the pics coming...

The setting on my camera was set wrong, so the pics are a little small. I'll take some better ones
We boxed the frame w/ 3/16" plate, cut the alterK to mount directly to the frame rails. Moved the upper arm mount up as well to keep everything the same as far as the suspension/steering geometry. The motor is centered in the engine compartment and raised about 2". A little notch in the hood bracing is gonna be done, but way better than I thought. The engine is back about 2" approximately from where the AlterK mounted it. The lower half of the firewall and entire trans tunnel will come out. The weldtech pan sits 5" from the ground and the AlterK frame is about 5.25". Great clearance with a super low ride height is the goal.
Probably gonna add a small forward bar to the cage into the engine compartment. The car will handle like it's on rails for sure. These pics show the square tube cross bar for the Kframe but now the mandrel bent one is in. Looks much cleaner IMHO

Rob, Does the Weldtech pan clear the steering rack O.K. (when all was in the stock location)? Why did you choose the Weltech over a Charlie's pan? Don't think a stock truck pan is going to cut it for me afterall. Think it would sit too low. Golfer John ended up having to cut an inch out of his truck pan, so I'm probably going to surrender and go with an aftermarket...

OJ I measured a truck pan and it is an inch taller than the Weldtech pan, so the Weldtech is better than the truck pan. The Weldtech pan fits with the K and power rack, it looks nice. I will say the pickup they send which is a hacked up stock one is NOT the best. Charlie's makes a long sump style pan that has really good ground clearance now........he built it for the Gforce design demon which is on airride. (slimer green w/ black wheels) Not sure is he does the pickup too. The accessories clear just fine on the AlterK rails. The width is the same for the engine. The TTI's aint gonna work for me however....sucks. I am lookin for some Jeep manifolds to try, before I go the custom header route....

Thanks Rob. Think I'll check further into the Charlie's pan. You ought to check with Mark at Street & Performance (think the website is hotrodlane.cc ) for some short tube headers. They've done quite a few GenIII hemi conversions and have their own short tube header they've often used. Think you can get them in stainless also. I believe they're a fairly tucked in, center dump. If you look at their home page, go down on the right side to the picture of a crate 392. Just below that is a dressed up 6.1 and you can get a bit of a view of the headers...

Radiator mounted/fan/shroud mounted.....
OJ, I ordered some headers from Street and performance. Got them only tacked together, I am sure they are gonna be modified.
