leaf spring bushing
« on: July 19, 2008, 08:07:39 PM »

im ordering new front eye bushings for my car and i heard they are either 1/2" or 5/8" bolt.  mine are more like 7/16".  its a 1966 valiant, could the early cars have the smaller bolt?  i tryed ordering relo. spring hangers from bill at the car farm but he cant make holes smaller than 1/2".  he never came across this problem.  bill said he could hook me up with 1/2" bolt bushings, and bolts for 1/2" holes.  my question is, if im changing bolt size, could i go with the 5/8"bolt/bushing?  will all front eye bushings, reguardless of bolts size, fit my stock leafs?  also,  i have some sliders that came with solid aluminum bushings,  iv heard these are a little to ridig for street use.  can i toss the solids and use polys with the sliders?  for now, i plan on 50/50 street/strip.   this IS a bbv.

there were also 2 different sizes of front eye bushings on mopars.   they are 1.5 inches and 2.0 inches ... I would bet that you have 1/2 bolts in the front of your springs ..
